2010 Milwaukee Bike Plan Update

Wisconsin Water Diversion Plan Scrutinized

Three environmental groups filed a friend of the court brief today urging the U.S. Supreme Court to take up a Michigan lawsuit that aims for a long-term permanent solution to keep the destructive Asian carp from entering Lake Michigan through Chicago’s artificial navigational channels.

Washington Offers Plan to Stop the Carp

Milwaukee Riverkeeper has recently learned about the new plan unveiled by the White House to stop the Asian Carp. The proposal contains many methods (several already in use), but does not call for the closure of the Chicago Sanitary & Ship Canal, in which the fish can enter the Great Lakes.
