10th Anniversary Hank Aaron State Trail 5k Run/Walk

Held each August, the Hank Aaron State Trail 5k Run / Walk is a great way to enjoy the Trail. The course starts in the shadow of Miller Park, travels through the Menomonee Valley along the newly-opened Canal Street, and winds its way on the Trail along the river finishing again near Miller Park.

Bring your canoe or kayak to the the Buffalo Street Public Launch (150 Buffalo St.) in Milwaukee's Third Ward for a trip down the Menomonee River. It takes place Saturday July 25th, from 10am - Noon. To register (not required) click on the link below. Oh yeah, and it's FREE!

Milky Moonlight Paddle

It’s our fourth annual moonlit excursion through Milwaukee's downtown, co-sponsored by River Alliance of Wisconsin. This hugely popular event is a great way to see the heart of the city by boat and catch a glimpse of the full moon rising over the Lake Michigan waterfront.

Project RED training

Project RED (riverine early detectors) is a citizen monitoring project that trains paddlers, fishermen, and amateur naturalists to detect invasives within river corridors. Early detection of these species increases the success of confining or eradicating them before they spread downstream saving our rivers and our money.

Estabrook Park River Cleanup

The 3rd installment of our summer river cleanup series will meet at Estabrook Park.

We will be cleaning the banks of the Milwaukee river, which runs through the park, and tackling the park grounds, if time allows. Meet at the parking lot next to picnic area #5 (4616 Estabrook Pkwy) on Saturday August 15th, from 9am-Noon.

Bradford Beach Adopt-a-Beach Cleanup

The Alliance for the Great Lakes has teamed up with Adopt-a-Beach™ adopter, Friends of Bradford Beach, and Barefoot Wine to present an open cleanup at Bradford Beach followed by an after party sponsored by Barefoot Wine. The event starts at 10am and the meeting place is the beach house.
